Back in the Saddle..I Mean Studio

This is a commissioned 8”x10” pastel and charcoal sketch of a Peregrine Falcon. Thanks Dillon!

Okay, so you know how I became smitten with roadways and waterways in Wyoming? I am acting on it by putting that love in 2-D form. Above is one of my favorite photos and the inspiration for the series. (And extremely fitting for my life at the moment).

Below is the beginning stage of my painted version. It is on a large and fantastic panel that was built by the mitts of my dear friend, Sandra.

Here is a handful of the Pathways Postcards that I mailed to friends and family from Wyoming. I believe there are 15 in all. I hope to turn these wee little preliminary paintings into larger works.

Uh...what?

So my pals Lani and Lindsey (aka LP) went for a much needed road trip last weekend. It was such a wonderful and inspiring getaway that I can only describe it with the above photo.

New!

Jacana Chick

Bald Eagle's Nest

Emperor Penguin

Bailey the Turkey Vulture
Here are some newbies to add to the flock. They will all be in my etsy shop in the near future. (Except the mini Bailey sketch. Sold! Thanks Kim!). The reason behind each sketch is as follows; Jacana chick because he is wicked cute, the Bald Eagle's Nest because I felt like drawing a tree, the Emperor Penguin because I drew him inWyoming and it was freezing so I felt like a penguin, and Bailey the Turkey Vulture because Kim asked me to. That about sums it up.

Pathways

I became smitten with the pathways of Wyoming. There was something so striking about how a roadway or waterway interrupted the vast stretches of land. I've never wanted to paint landscapes until now. So my new venture...I give you Pathways, a series of paintings using the above photos as inspiration.
